Starting December 24, 2024, the city of Rome will introduce new fees for tourist buses entering Limited Traffic Zones (ZTL) in the historic center, in conjunction with the Jubilee of 2025.

What’s changing for tourists?

Significant fee increases: The new fees represent a substantial increase compared to current rates, with some areas seeing over a 300% hike.
Affected zones: ZTLs A, B, B4, and B51/B52/B53/B55 will be subject to the new fees.
Bus size: Fees will vary based on the size of the tourist bus (over or under 8 meters).
Validity period: The new fees will be in effect from December 24, 2024, to January 6, 2026.

Why the increase?

The Extraordinary Government Commissioner for the Jubilee of the Catholic Church 2025 through commissioner ordinance, has introduced these new fees to limit bus traffic in the busiest areas of the historic center and reduce the environmental impact of tourism.

ZTL B4: €361 per day
